2018 CCOTY > The Quest

The quest to find exceptional Christmas music has never been more perilous.

Since 2003, we have never failed in our mission to search out the greatest Christmas music this universe has to offer. But as each year passes, the possibility that we will come up empty grows ever greater.

We, however, will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish without a fight! This is a call to arms; a call to rally against the raging tide of loathsome lay and repulsive refrain.

Be gone, tacky and droll! Be gone, bad taste! Let us go forth. Find great Christmas music!

Now. Down to the nitty-gritty:

There is only one voting category this year – the main game – “Christmas Carol of the Year”.

The secondary category is “Original Christmas Songs” by you guys! And it is purely for your enjoyment and entertainment – it’s a ‘no-vote’ category. (‘Tacky and droll’ is allowed in this very special case.)

Your Original Christmas Songs are due by Friday, November 30.

  1. Hi there, kind people of Christmas Carol of the Year!

I wonder if, somewhere in your Christmas carol discovery journey, if you have considered recommending Christmas carol playlists? This may, or course, be something you prefer to leave to the discerning listener, so that they can have their own creative journey. This would be completely understandable. But I thought I would raise the question, none-the-less.

    Yours in carols appreciation

    Rebecca
